How Our Naperville Electroacupuncture Works

The Naperville electroaupuncture practiced at our clinic follows earlier variations reaching back to the 1930s -- but it also follows the basic principles of the original healing modality as practiced by Traditional Chinese Medicine for millennia. In a traditional acupuncture session, fine needles are inserted just under the skin in various combinations, at specific points along qi (life energy) pathways known as meridians. The presence of the needles redirects errant qi flow to help normalize neurological, circulatory, organ and other functions while also relieving pain without any need for drugs.

Our Electroacupuncture works similarly to traditional acupuncture, but with some important exceptions. Instead of using electrodes attached to needles, we use a handheld device that utilizes microcurrents to treat specific acupuncture points. The microcurrents send multiple pulses of electrical energy and are applied directly to each acupuncture point. This electrical stimulation enhances the effect on the qi flow while also providing its own uniquely soothing feeling.
